The location of the October 4th program at MacKenzie Place will be in The Arbours rather than the Main Atrium as previously stated. The Arbours is in the same building but at the end of Elm Creek Way. Just pass the main entrance (The Welcome Center) and proceed all the way to the end of the street when it curves around to the right. You will see the sign there that says "The Arbours." There is plenty of parking. Please plan to arrive by 2pm to have decaf coffee and dessert bites and spend time socializing with your fellow PPOL members. Brief comments will begin about 2:30 and will be followed by the concert. Madison has a wonderful program planned for us and Dan Brink will be accompanying her. About Madison: Madison Falkenstine is a young soprano currently based in Colorado Springs. She obtained a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Metropolitan State University of Denver where she studied with professor Gene Roberts. In 2018 she was awarded the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Scholarship, and was awarded the Beverly Fernauld Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Voice in both 2019 and 2020. During her time at MSU, Madison was heavily involved in MSU’s Opera Theater. In this program she was given the opportunity to sing roles like Manon from Massenet's Manon, Rosina from the Barber of Seville, and Duchess Carolina in Moreno Torroba's Luisa Fernanda. Madison is often featured in concert and has sung the soprano solos in the following masterworks, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, G.F. Handel’s Gloria, Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit, and John Rutter’s Gloria. She has appeared with the Montview Westminster Choir, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and Parish House Baroque. Additionally, Madison premiered True Women of the West with Art Song Colorado, of which she was the curator and performer. She attended the prestigious Taos Opera Institute, where she participated in intensive operatic training and performed in Micheal Ching’s new opera Remove Shoes Before Entering, and most recently attended The Vocal Arts Festival with Opera Theatre of the Rockies. She is now a student of acclaimed soprano, Martile Rowland. This Fall, Madison will attend CU Boulder to obtain her Master's of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.
