Climb Away from the Dangers of a Boring Summer

Another way to keep your older kids out of trouble with a little adventure this summer!

What is your teen or pre-teen doing while you're at work this summer? While we all know they need extra rest to learn and grow, wouldn’t you prefer that they thrive in a fun, adventurous way rather than sleeping the summer away?

Fountain Valley Summer Climbing Camps offer the perfect balance of learning and fun, fostering teens’ physical, mental, emotional, and social growth along the way.

~ Whether bouldering, lead climbing, or top-rope climbing, teens will enhance their physical fitness by using a wide range of muscles beyond the everyday.

~ Working with a coach in a 5:1 setting, climbers will learn the importance of good communication skills and teamwork—both soft skills deemed essential for success in the academic and professional world.

~ While climbing, it is not uncommon to experience moments of failure —perhaps from being unable to reach the top or conquer a particular route. FVS climbing programs strengthen young minds, helping teens develop resilience in the face of adversity and master the art of focus with each new ascent on the tallest high school climbing wall in the nation.

~ Throughout their week-long session with FVS Camps, teens will be challenged to venture beyond their comfort zones—whether climbing a difficult route before their peers, joining a new team, attempting their first-ever outdoor climbing experience, or overcoming a fear of heights. Tackling each of these challenges, and more, will lead to improved self-confidence and teach them that they can achieve anything they set their hearts and minds to.

This June, Fountain Valley Summer Camps is offering two week-long climbing programs (June 9–13 and June 16–20) for beginner to advanced day climbers in grades 7 through 10 on its 1,100-acre campus in Colorado Springs. The week will culminate in an outdoor climbing excursion designed to put newly acquired skills to the test. What's stopping you from signing your teen up today?
