Happy July! We're in the heart of the summer now in Colorado Springs. Hope you and your kids are enjoying a fantastic summer. If you're looking for excuses to get out and enjoy July with your kids, we've rounded up a list of 7 things you can do this month with your kids in the Colorado Springs Area to make the most of the month!

1. Celebrate July 4

2. Take the favorite stuffed animals on a picnic

What do kids love more than picnics? A chance to invite their favorite stuffed friends! It's Teddy Bear Picnic Day (yep, that's a thing!) so make the sandwiches, load up the kids, have them bring a few stuffed animals and head to your favorite picnic spot for a fun afternoon out. Or just throw a blanket down in the backyard. Either way the kids will be thrilled — and the teddy bears will surely enjoy their afternoons out. July 10

3. Eat alllll the macaroni!

It's Mac and Cheese Day, a holiday we at Macaroni KID love, for obvious reasons! Make a special mac and cheese dinner at home, or head out to one of these great Colorado Springs  restaurants for some yummy mac & cheese. July 14

4. Scream for ice cream

5. Make it all about YOU!

Parents Day is the one day a year it's not about the kids, it's about YOU! If you're a parent or parenting a child, this is the day for you! Put your feet up, close your eyes and let the kids bring you snacks for a change. July 24 

6. Head to Wild wings n things for wings

It's national chicken wing day so of course we'll be celebrating with wings from OFurry's Sports Bar & Grill  But there are so many great restaurants to get wings from Palmer Lake to Pueblo.  O’Malley’s , Buffalo Wild WingsThe Dirty Byrd,  and Golden Flame Hot wings are just to start! 7. Be a friend

The International Day of Friendship is a great excuse to get together with your besties! Or let your kids get a few friends together for a fun and cool  day at any of the 5 Spray parks or just in your backyard! July 30
