Let Your Wild Side Out at Brush Crazy!

A Family-Friendly Art Studio

By Nicole Hoeper, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Colorado Springs - Olympic City USA July 15, 2019

Creating art has excited me since I was young. Once I had my own children, I lost some of that creativity because my me-time had been compromised, that time to think and reflect and create. I was an artsy kid, spent a lot of extra time in the art room in high school and I went off to college for a Fine Art degree. When I find local businesses that offer that opportunity for me to bring in my family to get creative, I love to check them out, which was the case with Brush Crazy. Brush Crazy offers walk-ins and they also have classes that you can register for, they have all of the supplies that you’d need for your chosen project and the staff are happy to show you some new techniques and give pointers if your using supplies that are new to you.

Art can be fun to create in groups. It’s like being in art class at school. You might all be working on the same project but it’s fun because you can make the piece your own by thinking a little outside the box and you can bounce ideas off of other people in the group. At Brush Crazy, you have the opportunity to register for group canvas painting or board art classes. Or if you’re more of a private creator, you can walk-in anytime they’re open and choose the project you want.

I liked to try out all the new and different art supplies because they are fun to test out to see what results you can get out of them. There are many different techniques that are fun to try out if you just can’t figure out what you’d like to make. At Brush Crazy, if you’ve never glazed pottery, you have the opportunity to do so. That’s the same with painting acrylic on canvas or painting on wood. Have you ever tried Bubble Art? It’s a fun technique that requires you to blow bubbles onto your masterpiece and adults love it just as much as kids. The staff at Bush Crazy can help you with all the fun techniques that they have up their sleeves. You’re sure to have fun doing them too!

Some art supplies aren’t as easy to keep on hand at home which is why going to Brush Crazy is a great opportunity. There have been an array of art supplies in my house. I keep several types of paint, pom pom balls, popsicle sticks, sketchbooks (you name it, I’m sure I have it) so that when myself or my kids feel like creating, we have these supplies at our fingertips and don’t have to make a trip out to grab them. Don’t go out and buy the whole craft store to make projects with your kids at home. Head to Brush Crazy!
