Our family has always enjoyed being members of our local zoo, no matter which city we've lived in. Conservation efforts are able to continue with zoo member support year after year and I like to feel like our family is helping. We are blessed here in Colorado Springs to have such a magnificent zoo on Cheyenne Mountain that we can venture to for family fun.
Reasons why we enjoy being zoo members at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo~
- We can visit as frequently as we want. When there's nothing going on in you're family's schedule, the zoo should always be Plan B.
- We can pick and choose which exhibits we want to see and leave the others for another day.
- We can pop in for short visits and not feel guilty about the admission price (because if you're a member, there isn't a daily admission.)
- The food is 'da bomb!!! They have the BEST pizza in town, killer nachos, great french fries. They also serve funnel cakes, giant sno cones and Dippin' Dots.
- We don't mind throwing down money on the sky ride, Dippin' Dots or special gifts at the gift shop on occasion since we spent no money for zoo entry. Members receive $1 per sky ride and a 10% discount on merchandise in the gift shop.
- We love going to the member-only events held throughout the year! Most are held in the evenings after hours when the zoo is nice and quiet.
- We get to know the animals and our kids have their absolute favorites that we like to see regularly such as the emu, Ember & the other orangutans and zoo babies that continue to show up.
- We're helping with conservation efforts!
- We like to donate some of our recyclable items for animal enrichment.
- The price of a couple of visits for our family is close to the membership price so it is well worth it.
