I could never stop arting. It's one of my favorite go-to activities personally and to engage my children with. Artistic ideas are endless. No two things are created in the same manner, each with their own unique flaws and personality.

Have you ever wanted to try Watercolor Resist Technique?

Watercolor Resist is when you paint over any substance that water will "resist," with watercolor paint thus making the paint draw away from that area instead settling elsewhere. One easy way to create this is by using wax or crayons and watercolor paints on watercolor paper.

The following demonstrated steps have been provided by Creative Flow, a local small business. Orders for the 4 pack of pre-made Secret Message Holiday Cards may be found on Creative Flow's website squareup.com/store/creativeflow. These cards cost just $4 and ard make wonderful advent or stocking stuffer for your children. However, this technique is easy to replicate yourself and makes for a fun and festive way to spend time arting with your kiddos. It's easy to slap a postage stamp on as well and send to relatives as a card.

WATERCOLOR RESIST TECHNIQUE:

1. Pull out some watercolor paper as it absorbs the paint nicely without making your paper roll up on the edges and get sopping wet holes in it.

2. Color any design you want with white crayon. You may also use colored crayons but for the "secret" messages, I used white only.

3. Grab your watercolor paint which you may have on hand and paint away! The darker the paint (meaning less water on the brush), the better reveal of your secretive design.

4. Let dry and enjoy your creation!
